Hands in Ministry

Our Mission

Responding to the call of Christ to take the Good News of God’s love to people in every circumstance of life, HIM is a program that gives compassionate and loving lay volunteers the opportunity to serve in the pastoral role of caregiving by offering a ministry of presence to those in need.

How does it work?

  • Step 1: Needs and prayer concerns are forwarded to the church office via prayer request cards, pew pads, personal contact with the Pastors and/or communication with the church office.
  • Step 2: Once the Pastors are aware of a situation or celebration, it is shared with the Director of Congregational Engagement, and she in turn contacts the leaders of the various projects and teams depending on the situation.
  • Step 3: The team leaders assign a caregiver to address the need and/or offer the support  and well wishes of the congregation.
  • Step 4: Feedback is shared with the team leaders and Pastors.  If additional caregiving is required, strategies are developed in consultation with the Pastors.
